Green Eyes

Happy Mother's Day

When I knew the time was limited, I wanted to photograph every single line on her face.  So many things I never wanted to forget, especially those pale green translucent eyes of hers.
Some of the best things I learned in life came from what I saw through my mom's eyes.

"I remember my mother's prayers and they have always followed me.  They have clung to me all my life."
 -Abraham Lincoln

Eyes of gratitude.

My mother's love for me was so great I have worked hard to justify it."
-Marc Chagall

Eyes with a story to tell.

My mother said to me, 'if you become a soldier, you'll be a general; if you become a monk, you'll end up as the pope.'  Instead, I became a painter and wound up as Picasso.
-Pablo Picasso

Eyes quick to crack a joke.

My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it.
-Mark Twain

Eyes of a genius.

"My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw.  All I am I owe to my mother.  I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her."
-George Washington

Eyes of conviction.

"To describe my mother would be to write about a hurricane in it's perfect power"
-Maya Angelou

Eyes that sparkle, and the most beautiful ones the heavens ever created.

“When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth.”
-Mitch Albom

Happy Birthday Tim

What does a 34 year old male have to put up with on his birthday?
Getting in the car to leave for work... with streamers and balloons all over.

I am gonna claim that's a half smile.

But if that doesn't make you smile, love of mine, how but a picture text from home that looks like this:

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TIMMMMMM!!"

Or how about this picture text of Mr. Hu for your birthday?!
What started with some nice shirts from Tim's closet, then turned to Hu's wife making him a handsome sweater vest.  Then on to the Hu-ster getting himself some mirrored Ray Bans, for 100 rmb...
Then Hunter accidentally left his cowboy hat in the car.  And this is what you get.

I know, it's random.  But I got the pic on Tim's bday, and what's a good day without Mr. Hu in it?

Then The kids got him from work.  We made sure not to cause a scene while he was shutting down for the day.  Or not.

Hunter made Tim this above Happy Birthday message.  And the boys made a long banner that said "Happy Birthday" with Dad written all over it.  And we went to the mall where Tim got a few toys at Toys R Us.  For the kids.

To top off the special day, he requested no-bake cookies (shaped in the number 34).  And then we let this stray cat come into the house, where it happily sat on his lap and gave big snuggles to the Birthday Dad.  The kids named the cat "Tuna Fish Broccoli".

Happy Birthday to the guy who warns me *weeks* in advance "don't you dare do a thing for my birthday", (ever since I threw him a raging surprise party our first year of marriage).  So for the most part, it was an average day, with the acception of car balloons, no bakes and a stray cat.
