GOT MILK?! Uh... keep it.

I approached this man at the grocery market (shocked that the milk was even still being sold!!). I asked him (in Chinese) "didn't you know this milk has plastic in it?" He gave me a funny look and responded "no, they use the plastic on the container, not inside!!"

I felt bad that first of all, the milk was still being sold. Secondly, that not all of the local population knew!

This is what we were advised, by the US embassy to drink. Boxed milk.

So, I only bought the milk without Chinese characters on it, though they all claim to be imported.

I digress... They have these really cool escalators in the grocery store. They are flat, and the shopping cart wheels click into the grooves, so the carts stay stationary. Genius, eh?

Oh, and on a light note as well... China is trying to clean up their air pollution and "go green". Plastic bags are no longer free (though you can buy them if you'd like). Cool idea! So everyone brings their reusable bags when they go buy their boxed milk and diapers etc. Except flighty blondies as pictured above. Me.
