Freepwho Anyone?

Above: An American Drain Pipe (for a sink). In china, it is not curved, it is a pipe that slants toward the wall. Because you cared to know this....

And to steal from Treeesha's blog (it was that good):

Me: Knock Knock
You: Who's there?
Me: Freep
You: Freep Who?
Me: No Thanks.

So you've seen the pictures of the house. It's only what, 2 years old. Pretty decent. But...

Why, every once in a while, does it smell like a dirty diaper? A ripe one, only times the local population. I've gone on a hurried frenzy checking all the toilets, garbage cans, and the bottoms of all the millions of shoes that line our doorway.

Change of scenes. I was out with my brilliant neighbor (she really is). I was showing her something, and I randomly, and embarrassingly ask her "Your house ever smell like poop?" I was sure she was going to be disgusted and say no. But instead, she opens the cabinet under the sink of a house we were in, and points to the drain pipe. "See how the drain pipes here aren't curved and S shaped like they are back home? When they are curved, that's what keeps the sewage smell from coming back up." Oh.

I thought curved drain pipes were to catch diamond rings that fall down the drain before they hit the open sewage system. Nope. That's just an added benefit. They are to keep the stench down, and still be able to take the "drainable" down.

Kim The Brilliant, had all her drain pipes switched. Me? Just got freepwho smell going on over here.

Just wanted you to have an opportunity for gratitude over there in the states. How neat that your builders do that for you, it's common place for you to have a clean smelling home. They've totally got you covered, in a place where you'd never think about or know about unless you read about it on some crazy lady's blog in China. They've got it taken care of for you, before you could even think to complain about it. Wasn't that nice of them?

Thanks for giving me something to be thankful for. Also, thanks for the song idea. I loved it and cried. I had the thought a couple of months ago what would I do if I had one more day with my Wyatt...I think I would have a ordinary day with extra hugs and kisses. I wish I could add that song to my blog but couldn't find it on playlist.com. Thanks Suzanne for all you have done for me.
Love,
Andrea
