In High School, Mrs. Thacker, my Science teacher boldly stated that there are some things in life that simply have YES or NO answers. YES, you did finish your homework, or NO you didn't. YES, you did know the answer, or NO you did not. She was strict in every sense of the word, almost never gave out an A, and saw everything in black and white.
She commonly used the statement "Either you are pregnant, or you are not!"
So, here at the age of 29.5 I challenge that. We are sorta pregnant. We are pregnant and are due in about 18 months. With the homestudy portion done, it is just as official as a positive pregnancy test:
And we are making small adjustments to make the process faster... like a $37 FED EX envelope (we needed a tracking number, so the fast way was the only way).
If Mrs. Thacker still doesn't believe me, I have a friend that was Sorta Pregnant too. See this link to read about: Ginger's first "ultrasound", when she got her pictures of her adopted baby, months before her baby was placed in her arms. The bond is built all the same. It's beautiful.
And, if I could continue in making light of such a huge event... I would "Tag" some people to join me in the process. I would never list names (IE: Anna, Siri, Gel, Lynette, Kim etc), because that would be as silly as confronting a High School Science teacher.
Grateful Friday

No fair. I have wanted to adopt since I was about 12, or then I knew I was going to. I am so happy (jealous) for you.
Yeah!!! I'm so excited for you! I just had a dream about you last night. We finally got our fingerprints mailed off to complete the last step in our county process. Thanks to you for helping me get moving again with your challenge. By the way...who won that Magic Blanket contest?
CONGRATULATIONS! Your dream family is coming true. This doesn't surprise me at all though, if Suzanne plans it, it will happen! Here's to good planning and cute baby girls!
Hey, I don't know if you remember me or not -- I am AnnDee's friend - I drove down with you to her wedding -- anyhow I found you on her blog -- you have a beautiful family. Sounds like life is treating you well. Rachel Cornwell-Doyle

Vern,
Why am I always laughing out of my chair anytime I see a comment from you? If they do send us home for the match... you are totally coming, right?! Somebody's gotta do a write up for me, and why not a professional (and paid) blogger... who I know. There I go name dropping.
