Alecia's Shower

In my last ward, one of my favorite friends, Diana Graves, mother of now 5, boldly believed "every baby needs a shower! I don't care if it's the mother's 12th!"

Well, my dear friend Alecia was having a shower for her soon-to-be-born-son "Gideon Danger Jones" (yes, the real name, tell me how cool that is!).

I made the mistake thinking the shower was for her little adopted daughter Abishnahah (they kept her original name given by birth parents).

And showed up to the baby BOY shower, with this honker in hand.

To reference size, here I am holding it.

But, because Alecia and I have good friends, who let me have another try... We had another shower for Alecia's daughter. I planned it at a horrible time, everyone was gone for the Summer! Most important, Alicia's sweet mother- Diane (whom I absolutely ADORE) was in the country for it.

And I, like Diana, love another opportunity to have a baby shower. The best part-- the Relief Society is throwing her another one (a 'real' one... seeing as mine was more of a small gathering) when all the adoption paperwork goes through for this sweet little Abishnaha.
Congrats Alecia- who at one time was praying for "A" baby, was blessed with two!

One shower, two showers, three showers, who cares how many showers a person gets -- I love them and think every baby should get one too -- and besides its a great excuse to get together.

i think the pink is great for the Mom. besides she's normally the one putting those diapers on, might as well make the job glamorous. great diaper cake! besides, the boy baby will never know. my grandma thought my dad was going to be a girl and refused to buy anymore clothes...so he wore girl clothes until he was 6 mos old. that was 1939 for yah.

smiles!!!
