First, nice to have you stop by Kara. Background check: Kara is a molecular biology major... or... uh, what was it? One of those really smart people majors.
Nevermind that she made cuts for a professional NBA basketball cheerleader; then just turned them down.
Now, other than being a mom, she is a backup singer in a band called "Chapsticks".
Just an FYI. Okay, so I did the research after reading your comment from my last post about the crocs. Okay, you got me-- Crocs is based in Colorado, not founded in Colorado.
Next, a little tidbit:
There's a title out there called "accidental entrepreneurs"... Like the story of a mom who created those decorative little button jibbitz that poke into the holes in Croc shoes.
According to Shauna Brown (also part of the Chapstick band), who drove me to the airport while my shimmering sunless tanner sparkled on my face... who heard it from an Oprah episode...
A mom created the Jibbitz for her girls' Crocs. One day, while at the pool, a man asked the daughter about her shoes, and found the mother. He gave her his card, and come to find out, it happened to be the owner of Crocs. And to quote wikipedia:
Jibbitz is a company founded by Rich and Sheri Schmelzer in 2006 to create decorative attachments for the holes in Crocs sandals. The company was aquired by Crocs in December 2006 for $20 million.
20 Mil.
Sick.
Still Sick.
Still Sick.
That's alot of money.
All for little buttons that click into rubber/plastic shoes that can be eaten by escalators.
Amazingly sick, but great when you're Sheri Schmelzer.
