What can I say. I love the shoe. I love they were created in my Colorado, and manufactured in historic China. I love how sensible they are for boys. They can crash through mud puddles in these kicks, and get clean just by standing under a water hose. Babies can put them on.
But don't tell me their cute. Don't tell me they were ever meant for anyone other than nurses who coordinate them with their equally cozy scrubs. But when it comes to comfort, this shoe takes the cake. Crocs claims to have a secret patented ingredient that separates their coziness from that of their payless knock-offs.
So here's something you might not know... did you know it's one of the only shoes ever that can be squished completely flat. As flat and thin as you want based on the amount of pressure applied. To further illustrate (am I sounding like a researcher?):
Blame it on the escalator, if you'd like. I say it's the shoe
We were at the aquarium and heading down the escalator. I am alone with the boys, holding both their hands. We are still, no jumping or wiggling. Then I hear what sounds like a slow-motion replay of a boyscout armpit fart. Go ahead, mimic the sound in your head. Then Hunter screeches "MY SHOE! MY CROC!! It ate my croc!" It's vanished in thin air... except I look at the little crack between the escalator's metal stairs and the glass wall, and all the sudden, it spits out the back sling part (b/c it has those two little black buttons on it that keep the sling in place). And then a mutilated buzz lightyear jibbit flings out as well.
Of course, nobody besides me and my 4 year-old saw it. I then freak out, and you know what happens then. My mouth goes a mile a minute to anyone in proximity of the area. I tell everyone coming down the escalator what happened. Most thought I was crazy (can ya blame 'em?).
Others avoided eye contact with me.
All that matters is that you believe me... don't you? Don't you? What are you looking at there in the distance?
Grateful Friday

That's kind of scary! I do love the shoe myself though. I like the new layout!
my kids must have sensitive feet because crocs give them blisters.
I thought Crocs were first introduced in Australia, not Colorado. I'm going to do some research myself! I've seriously wondered about that many times, like everytime I go into the city and I'm riding up and down escaltors on the BART with Ellie in her Crocs...it's worrisome.
