I met with Perry, a tennis instructor out here from Hong Kong. After rallying for 20 minutes, he said by the next couple of weeks he would show me "open stance". I figured why not try today?!We went for it. He said "You are the first student I've had in 8 years to switch from traditional to open with immediate success". What, when we all know I can barely chew gum and talk on the phone at the same time.
Which means one of the following:
1. I just haven't played for so long that I must've been more pliable?!
2. He wants job security.
Hired him. Sucker for flattery, true or not. Hey, we all fall for it every once in a while, right?
I know you want to see me in my spicy little tennis outfit. It's a "mom favorite": t-shirt and a pair of leggings (you know the ones, where I sewed the obnoxious whole in the crotch that I denied anyone else could see).
Side note:
They say Shanghai air pollution has it's pluses! We played directly under the hot sun for 2 hours, without any sunblock. Didn't get the least bit burned. Amazing... and I breathe that stuff everyday:).

How Fun!! I try to play tennis...no luck at all. I'm glad you're having a great time in China. Say hi to Brienholt for me. :)
Yes, we all fall for flattery at least once...why do you think I'm married?! (Ha! I jest, really.) And be careful in that sun...Warren just had a melanoma removed...waiting to hear back if it has metastasized. (SCARY!!)
LOL, i agree that tennis outfits just get "cuter" as you get older.
Skoose,
I don't think I ever knew you played tennis!! I played tennis in high school and college. I am jealous that you have your own private coach. Awesome fun. After reading over so many of your entries I believe I could go back to Asia again.
