June 6th

Our Anniversary was a busy day...

We had a huge "Blog Party" at my house, where Tami taught us all the ins and outs. I moved the entire set of loft furniture down to the living room. We had 2 full sofas, 1 love seat, 3 over sized chairs, 5 dining room chairs and one ottoman to accommodate all 18 of us in one living room! We had a blast. But when it was over, I was too tired to go out to lunch. Sorry Gals!!

Lucy brought a million ZhongZi. The following Monday is the Big "Dragon Festival" where everyone eats these. It is sticky rice, peanuts and pork wrapped in a pyramid shape with banana leaves. Then you steam them. Lucy is amazing! I don't know if I gave her enough credit for all of her work!

Lucy also made this specialty. It is a milk-tea (decaf) drink with zhenzhu (rice starch balls). This was left-over. I downed that entire cup in one sitting (really). The cup looks small, but compare it to the pen in the same pix. This is heaven on earth. I could eat/drink this for 3 square meals!

And because it was our anniversary, Tim took me to my favorite restaurant "Latina", it's like Rodizio grill. Nate and Dulcey discovered it when they were here. The blooms on these flowers were 2 inches big. I'm still not sure what kind of flower they were. I mixed them with bamboo... b/c it was our first anniversary in China. My favorite part? Tim let me hold his hand for the entire evening whenever we were walking!!

Oh, and Holly (our Ayi) tried Marshmallows for the 1st time. She was so confused at the texture, but enjoyed it.
