Sand Castles

When Barry Holly and I grew up in California, we loved to go to Fisherman's Wharf. I remember mostly fishing there. But I also remember playing kickball on the beach. I remember getting my first black eye when Barry was teaching me how to bat when I thought I'd backed away enough.

But I mostly remember making sand castles. Lots of them. Even our complex there in Salinas had a sand park. I even wrote a college paper about building sand castles with my sister.

Tim said he worked hard so we could play hard on this trip. He said he envisioned just sitting on the beach and letting the boys play in the sand.

So when Tim started doing sand castles with the boys, all the memories flooded back. And there was a small part of me that wanted to show off things only girls raised near beaches would know. Like how to dig 4-way tunnels and how to texture etc. I never thought about how much science was involved in the process! But Tim was mildly impressed. He smirked and said "how'dya learn how to do that?" LOL.

So Tann and I built and re-built castles. While Daddy and Hunter played in the ocean (see 'em back there?). We were so happy, and I am convinced that our version of Heaven will have lot of sand.
