Thanksgiving

Tim says Thanksgiving isn't official until tomorrow, which will be Friday here in China. He figures it's a US holiday, and so we will celebrate it on the US schedule.

Or maybe that's because he's arranged to take Friday off of work, so we do what we can! I will try to pull together a little family dinner. Probably with a chicken, since turkeys are over $100 US (imports). We'll probably use purple yams. Not because they don't sell orange ones... but while we have access to purple ones, why not?

Tim's taking that Friday off to be at Hunter's school, for part of some kind of "Father's Day Program".

Hmmm... go figure.

We are so grateful to be here. We love it. Tim loves his job, and we're grateful everyday that Tim has a job to go to. We are grateful for the weather that has been pleasant. We're grateful for our callings-- the youth are the best! We are grateful for faithful church leaders who walk delicately in this land. What a blessing it is that the government allows us to meet to partake of the sacrament here. How grateful we are that Hunter is in the clear, and is jumping around like his usual self. We're also grateful that Tanner is on the homestretch-- terrible twos are almost a thing of the past. He's talking more, and we can reason with him a bit more. We are so grateful to be US citizens, we know what that means, now. We feel so protected by our government that serves it's people. We don't take our health for granted. We are grateful for so many things. We are so excited for Christmas to come too... so we can celebrate the birth of Christ. The foundation of everything important.

Bless you all, you bloggers and friends and family!

We will sure miss you at Thanksgiving dinner today. I hope you have your own little celebration that is fabulous! Hannah was just looking for Hunter and Tanner in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. For some reason she thinks China and New York City are the same thing! Have a great day.

Hey, girlfriend. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your sweet family. Thank you for the great girlfriend time before we left. I love that I live in the land of cheap manicures but you sat on my couch and gave me one!! You're a treasure! :D
