When I first got to China, all my hair was the same length. So the fact that I only highlight the crown of my hair was never an issue (but now I've got two colors goin' on, and even Shea Blandford asked if I got extensions).
Now I have it dramatically layered. Not so much by choice.
I was supporting my local Chinese economy and tried to explain that I wanted a few chunky layers around my face. You know how you use your hands and motion like stair-steps around your face to imply layers? Anyway, I walked out with just that. Three steps on each side of my face. Each step made out of a 2 inch section of hair... not exaggerating.
It was so funny it took me a few days to get it fixed. Every time I'd pass a mirror I'd laugh my guts out. I wore it around to see if anyone would say anything. My friend Tracey B. noticed and we got a great laugh out of it.
Then Tim saw (he, BTW, didn't notice when I cut almost a foot off while pregnant with Tanner).
"Did you mean to do that?" he said cautiously.
Anyway, now they are fixed. I don't have a before picture in my files. And of course you wouldn't ask because you are a good friend, and know I'd burst into tears over the big computer crash of 2008.
But here's my question. Do I do all one length or keep the layered look? I'm sure this weighty matter will keep you up at night. Good friends support each other's vanity, right?

Who doesn't need a little Carly Simon in their life? Beautiful picture!
I really like the layers! Very cute!
BIG fan of the layered look right now! Looks fabulous on you! However, if you tried to go all one length at this point you'd have about a chin-lenth bob, right? That's always classy, too. And the a-line cut is very chic. Sorry, I was no help at all there. You'll be beautiful no matter what, Suzy-Q!
I love the look you have in this pick...I say keep it :) You are beautiful no matter what! But seriously you look really great w/ that cut, your hair is pretty long!
I think you should keep your hair as it is. It looks great...except it depresses me because I wish my hair was like that and it never will be. I'm destined to have curls hovering on frizzy and no talent or inclination to do anything about it...
I like them both. You do look really different with the layers though, good, but different.
Wow...you gorgeous thing you! I forget to look at your hair because I'm watching for the pink house slippers that you wear everywhere but in the house. Your hair is SO pretty. The nicest thing about you, though, is you are as gorgeous on the inside as you are on the outside! Love you, girlfriend! Thanks for the chat this afternoon!!
layers look great.
You look great either way, why not try the layers for a little longer, it looks great!
WOW. Your hair is sooo long. IT looks gorgeous. Keep it!
I love it - - I think it looks fantastic - don't change it.
